New Work
I decided to create a new body of encaustic work. Most of the flowers in this series were photographed in the beautiful gardens of the Horticultural Centre of the Pacific and then transferred into the beeswax in the course of my painting. There are several layers of beeswax and photo transfer in each of the paintings. Most of them are 8X8 inches in size.
Our home in North Saanich is called Greenwood since it is built in part of the incredible BC forest. Though we only have half an acre of land, we have many tall giants in our forest garden. Greenwood seemed a very fitting name for our beautiful space. Part of the garden is dedicated to the bees and to planting a small meadow for them to enjoy. We call this Greenwood Bee Space and I am delighted to offer some of the products of our bee yard.
